My name is Madeline Kubo. I am a Japanese language teacher with a fascination for languages, how they work, and how they connect us. I've also studied Korean extensively and enjoy continuing to learn on my own.
I am an avid reader and novice baker. Some of my favorite books I’ve recently read include Homegoing (Yaa Gyasi), The Paper Menagerie (Ken Liu), and In Other Words (Jhumpa Lahiri). My favorite thing to bake is probably a dutch baby since it’s quick and easy, but I’m also on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe.
I love to travel, but Oakland, CA is home.
